What to Expect
Paramedical tattoo procedures are highly individualized. Healing times vary based on skin type, treatment area, and medical history. Personalized aftercare instructions are provided at your appointment. Multiple sessions are typically required for optimal results.
Does permanent makeup hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied before and during your procedure to minimize discomfort. Most clients describe the sensation as light scratching or vibration. Sensitivity varies by individual and treatment area.
How long does permanent makeup last?
PMU typically lasts 1-3 years depending on skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, and skincare routine. Oily skin types tend to fade faster. Annual touch-ups help maintain color vibrancy.
Who is a good candidate for PMU?
Most healthy adults are good candidates. However, PMU may not be suitable for those who are pregnant or nursing, have active skin conditions in the treatment area, are prone to keloid scarring, or are undergoing chemotherapy. A consultation helps determine candidacy.
When should I schedule my touch-up?
A touch-up appointment is recommended 6-8 weeks after your initial session. This allows time for complete healing and for the true color to emerge. Touch-ups refine shape and boost color retention.
Can I wear makeup after my procedure?
Avoid makeup on and around the treated area for at least 7-10 days, or until fully healed. This prevents infection and allows proper pigment absorption.
What if I don't like the results?
Immediately after the procedure, colors appear much darker and bolder. Trust the healing process—color softens significantly. If adjustments are needed, they can often be addressed during your touch-up appointment.
